I was privileged to work with Stella for twenty years at AGS. She was a wonderful colleague and friend and she inspired so many students to achieve their potential. Thinking of Brian and all Stella’s family. RIP

A beautiful person. We’ve been neighbours and friends for many years. Stella had always got time for people even if just a wave from afar but there’s was always a smile attached with it. Family meant everything to Stella and she will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Stella!

On behalf of the Our Lady and All Saints Multi-Academy Company I would like to send my deepest sympathy to Stella`s family and friends. I never actually met Stella but we did have a zoom meeting back in December 2020 under covid-19 working constraints. She impressed me as someone who knew about Catholic Education extremely well, loved St Edwards RC Primary school, and placed the children`s needs at the centre of everything. Everyone I have spoken to about Stella tells me she was an inspiration and so committed. Stella will leave a huge gap for family, friends and fellow professionals. Stella was a wonderful teacher, a fantastic colleague and a a great friend. I have been beyond privileged to have known Stella; she truly has been my role model in life! As an ex AGS student, I remember Stella as she had the pleasure of my brothers company! Then as a teacher I chose to give back (like Stella did) to the school that had served me well, knowing it would be a challenge, and worked alongside this overly caring and nurturing woman, knowing I wanted to be that teacher! Our paths crossed again at Cockshut and I was elated to discover I would be working with Stella again and to capture the essence of her kindness once again. I will be eternally grateful to have known Stella as she helped craft the teacher that I have become and I hope she will continue to watch over us all xxx

I’m so thankful for having the great privilege of working alongside Stella at Archbishop Grimshaw. She was such a beautiful person so thoughtful, kind caring and so supportive to all the children and staff. I will always remember her lovely smile. May she rest in peace. Maudie Byrne xx
